It can be tricky to communicate what a brand “Feels” like. Recently, I had a brief discussion with a client who had just begun to consider her new floral business. She broke down her thoughts into a couple of sentences I found late at night in an email.
I spent time reading through, highlighting specific thoughts, and began to formulate the flavor of her brand. The mood board becomes our reference point for future materials including print and website design.
In graphic design, your ability to convey your vision is directly connected to your ability to communicate that vision back to the client for approval. Mood boards span the gap with their collection of images, textures and words speaking volumes and setting the tone.
